The Riviera Maya, is an 80-mile stretch of pristine beach running south from Cancun all along Mexico’s east coast, the Caribbean coast. The Riviera Maya welcomes over 340,000 destination weddings per year (as reported in The Knot’s 2016 Real Weddings Study). Cancún

Cancun is another location we started servicing back in 2009 along Mexico’s Caribbean coast of the Riviera Maya. Cancun is an incredible wedding destination with hundreds of hotels from small quaint “boutique-style” hotels to all-inclusive resorts that cater to a variety of budgets, on up to the 5-star luxury hotels for that trip of a lifetime! Cancun is a very modern and cosmopolitan city with visitors from all over the world. Cancun has over 750 different style restaurants and a variety of activities like scuba diving, snorkeling, boating/yachting, golfing, nightlife activities, and more. Cancun is at the northernmost tip of the renowned Riviera Maya.
Cancun is one of the top locations in the the world for a destination wedding. Included in this area is also Puerto Morelos, a small fishing village about 20 minutes south of Cancun. There are offshore dive sites and reef on this stretch of coastal beach.
To the north and northeast of the city of Cancun you’ll find two beautiful islands that are stunning for destination weddings as well. One is Isla Holbox, known for the swimming with the whale shark tours, beautiful beaches, and small-town vibes. It’s a car-free island with sand roads and home to many flamingos and pelicans. And Isla Mujeres, known for its pristine white sand beaches such as Playa Norte (North Beach), where you wade in gorgeous knee-high turquoise water. There are a number of resort hotels on this island and loads of snorkeling and scuba diving at the surrounding coral reefs.
There is another beautiful nearby island called Isla Contoy however, this island is protected and tours are regulated here. They only allow a maximum of 200 visitors to the island daily and therefore no weddings on this island however you can add it to your list of things to see if you have a destination wedding in or near Cancun!

Playa Del Carmen
One of the fastest growing cities in Mexico!
Included as part of the Riviera Maya is of course Playa del Carmen, which lies 40 miles south of Cancun and has been the fastest growing city in all of Mexico. Playa (as it’s known to locals) is lined with gorgeous resorts, golf courses, romantic dining locales, nightlife, beach clubs, and of course the famous Fifth Avenue in the heart of Playa town.
Puerto Aventuras

Traveling a bit further south is Akumal with white sand beaches, a coral reef with warm water rich in marine life especially sea turtles. Within the area of Akumal you’ll find Half Moon Bay, Yal-ku Lagoon, Aktun Chen park and many beautiful areas filled with nature, marine animals, and many water sports and activities. Akumal also has a small town with restaurants and shopping.
Tulum
A paradise and charm like no other with turquoise waters and magical vibes!
Tulum is a booming beach town, filled with good energy and lined with some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The turquoise waters and magical vibes of Tulum creates a paradise and charm like no other. Tulum also inhabits the well-preserved ruins of an ancient Mayan port city situated on cliffs above the white sand beaches and turquoise sea. Also nearby is Tulum town, a quaint coastal town with many shops, restaurants, bars, and hoppin’ nightlife. Tulum is also surrounded by many natural parks with mangroves and cenotes (natural limestone sinkholes); it’s truly a one-of-a-kind place and a treasure to many. An up-and-coming wedding destination as well.
